Privacy policy

PlainPlan Benefits is an independent insurance agency based in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. This policy explains what information we collect when you use plainplanbenefits.com, call us or become a client, how we use it, and the choices you have. In short: we use your information to help you with Medicare, we never sell your phone number, and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.

Information you give us

  • Call-back form: your name, phone number, what you need help with, and your consent to be contacted.
  • Calls, emails and appointments: anything you choose to tell us, such as your date of birth, ZIP code, current coverage, doctors, prescriptions and pharmacy.
  • Enrollment: if you decide to enroll in a plan, the insurance company’s application asks for details such as your Medicare number, address and payment preferences. We pass these to the insurance company to complete your enrollment.

Please don’t send your Medicare number, Social Security number or bank details by email or through the website form.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours collects some information automatically when you visit, through cookies and similar technologies:

  • Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful. It records things like the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you, your general location (city level), and your device and browser type.
  • Advertising: we may use advertising tools, such as Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) pixels, to measure whether our ads lead to calls or form requests, and to show our ads to people who have visited our site.
  • The page you were on: our form notes which page you sent it from, so we know which guide was helpful.

We set these tools up so that what you type into our form (your name, phone number and what you need help with) isn’t sent to Google, Meta or other advertising companies.

How we use your information

  • To call, text or email you about Medicare, as you asked us to
  • To compare plans and help you enroll in the plan you choose
  • To help with billing and claims questions, and to review your plan with you each fall
  • To meet Medicare, insurance company and Florida licensing rules, including keeping records of appointments and enrollments
  • To improve our website and measure our advertising

Calls, texts and recordings

When you submit our form, you agree that a licensed agent from PlainPlan Benefits may contact you by phone, text or email, including by automated means. Giving that consent isn’t a condition of buying any plan. You can withdraw it at any time by telling us on a call, replying STOP to a text, or emailing us, and we’ll stop within 10 business days. Message and data rates may apply to texts.

Medicare rules require us to record sales and enrollment calls. We’ll tell you when a call is recorded. Recordings are kept for as long as Medicare rules require, which is currently 10 years.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your phone number or other personal information, and we never share it with other agencies or lead companies. We share it only:

  • With the insurance company whose plan you ask us to enroll you in, or ask us to quote
  • With service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host (Netlify), our phone and email providers, and the software where we keep client records. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
  • With Google and advertising platforms, limited to the automatic website information described above
  • When the law requires it, for example in response to a regulator, a subpoena or a Medicare audit
  • If our agency is merged or sold, with the new owner, who must follow this policy

Health information you give on an insurance company’s enrollment application is also protected by that company’s own privacy notice.

How we protect it

We keep client records in a password-protected customer database or spreadsheet with two-step sign-in, and only licensed members of our team can see them. We don’t keep Social Security or bank numbers in those records. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect to what we need to help you.

How long we keep it

If you contact us but don’t become a client, we keep your details for up to 3 years so we can follow up if you ask, then delete them. For clients, we keep records for as long as you’re a client and afterward for as long as Medicare and insurance company rules require, currently up to 10 years.

Your choices

  • See, correct or delete your information: contact us and we’ll respond within 45 days. We may need to keep some records that the law or Medicare requires.
  • Stop contact: tell us on a call, reply STOP, or email us.
  • Opt out of targeted ads: ask us, and we’ll exclude you from our ad audiences. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out.
  • Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on, manage Google ads at Google Ad Settings, and opt out of many ad companies at aboutads.info.

Depending on where you live, including California and Texas, state law may give you additional privacy rights. We’ll honor any request made under those laws.

Children

Our website and services are for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Other websites

Our pages link to sites such as Medicare.gov, the Social Security Administration and insurance companies. Their privacy policies, not this one, apply when you visit them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use information we already have, we’ll tell you before it takes effect.
